Topic: [Solved] Apparently a bug in gain settings (TotalMix or Fireface 802?)

Hello,

Today I noticed that switching in TotalMix between "Lo Gain" and "+4dBu" was only working with stereo tracks (e.g. AN 1/2).

When I was setting the fader to not stereo (so I can control AN 1 and AN 2 individually), the switch between those two was apparently having no effect.

Later, I noticed that they get inverted. Switching it in AN 1 really affects AN 2, and switching it in AN 2 affect AN 1.

I downloaded the latest drivers as of today for the Fireface 802, and I was able to verify that my interface is on the latest firmware (USB 19, Firewire 8, DSP 9, USB Class Complaint 11). The drivers for the interface were not on the latest, so I updated that (driver_usb_win_1227).

I'm still seeing the same behavior in TotalMix, which says v1.79 in the "About" dialog box.

Is this a bug on either TotalMix or the Interface? Or can it be something else?

EDIT: I've made a video demonstrating this bug, hoping it can be explained better and get fixed by RME.

How did it affect ? What have you done ? Recording with a microphone and enabled this +4dBu ?
And what did you expect to happen ?

When I enable +4dBu on AN1, it doesn't get enabled on AN1 but gets actually enabled on AN2. And if I enable +4dBu on AN2, it doesn't get enabled on AN2 but gets enabled on AN1. In other words, the action of that setting (the selection between Low Gain and +4dBu) is inverted between AN1 and AN2.

Same thing happens for every input pair when changing from stereo to mono (e.g. AN 3/4, AN 5/6, etc.).

Please try the firmware update included in this Windows FUT:

Outdated link removed

It fixed the channel level control swapping for us.

Noticed exactly the same behaviour as Zarabozo here a few days ago. Yesterday, i saw this post, updated via the FUT for Mac..

Works correctly now!

Thanks, RME and Zarabozo!
