Topic: Fireface UC guitar low input level

Hi all,

I have a fireface UC USB with the last firmware (127) an driver (4.07) on Mac M1. I would like to plug my guitar (fender stratocaster) and use amplitube as an virtual amp.

I plugged the guitar directly on input 3 (instrument), activate the "instr" switch in total mix and up the gain to 18 (maximum). Even with the gain at the maximum level, the input level seems to be quite low and the sound lack of punch. I tested also on input 4, the result is the same.

Is it the right setup to use a guitar in fireface UC ? Do I need an intermediate equipment between the guitar and the soundcard ?

One thing you can do is insert a gain plugin before the Amplitube to boost up your guitar signal.
For example BlueCatAudio Free Plugin Bundle  Gain
Give a tiny little gain is enough !
