Topic: Fireface UC to Fireface 800

Hi All,

I want to connect my Fireface UC to a Fireface 800, what is the best way to go about it and best way to set it up?

I have looked in both manuals, and although they mention connecting 2 x 800's together or 2 x UC's together, neither manual say's how to connect an 800 to UC.

I am running win10.
My preference would be (if this is even an option) to have the UC as the master connected to the pc via USB and connect the 800 via optical(adat) to the UC
I do have a FW800 card installed in the pc if I need to connect the 800 to the pc as well as the UC?

any help would be really appreciated.

You can configure the FF800 as standalone ADAT converter. In Totalmix, you do the routings as you want it (analog inputs to ADAT output and vice versa), then save the mixer state to the unit. In Fireface settings app you do the clock settings and store it to the unit as well. Please note the max. amount of channels is eight inputs and eight outputs at 44.1 or 48 kHz.
As soon all that is done, there is no more FireWire connection needed.
