Topic: Playing synth via Push 2 thru MIDI connected to UCX II

Hello, I have recently just upgraded to a UCX II after a decade with an Apogee Duet for audio/Roland UM-ONE for MIDI and am having some confusion figuring out how to play the MIDI notes of a synth through my Ableton Push 2.

I have connected the MIDI in from the UCX to the MIDI out of my synth, and connected the MIDI out from the UCX to the MIDI in of my synth. When I open an external instrument in Ableton, I cannot seem to figure out how to route it so I can play the synth via MIDI on my Push. With the UM-ONE it used to just show up in the "MIDI To" section of Ableton's external instrument as well as in the MIDI connections. I don't see anything in relation to the UCX showing up.

I feel like it's a simple fix that I'm missing, just having some trouble figuring it out. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Ok. Does the interface appear as Midi device in macOS audio/midi setup app (in applications > utilities folder)? What driver version is installed on the Mac?

In Ableton the name of the UCX Midi device is probably Generic Midi device.

M1-Sequoia, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue
