Re: DIGICHECK on Mac...

This is truly the end of my PeeCee!!! Thanks Guys! Awesome!

[update] Just had a bit of a play... Great stuff. I like where this is going. Are we likely in time, to get the same feature set and controls (ie F2 to call up settings etc). Just got used to it on the PeeCee..
At this point, it is completely useable here. FF800 & MacPro 2.8 8 Core (osx 10.5.6)  The graphics do seem a little more jerky than on my old Windows box running WinXP (MultifacePCI)

Great stuff.

I have a 9632 card, but for some reason all i can see in 'Audio Device Select' is FF400...

Then i get this error:

Does anyone else have this problem?

Re: DIGICHECK on Mac...

Hi, nice to see some more progression but I am only seeing the following available fuctions:

2-Bar Level Meter, 4-Bar Level Meter, Multi Channel Level Meter, Global Level Meter and the Spectral Analyser...

Am I missing something?

Vector Audio Scope, Totalyser, Surround Audio Scope and Global Record are greyed out.

EDIT: Forgot to say - Merry Christmas

Re: DIGICHECK on Mac...

Yeah, too many bells around me, sorry. Spectral Analyser is correct, not Totalyser (but not far away now that this main component is built in). And as there are no Intel Macs with PCI slots, support for PCI devices is not clear at this time.

Hahahaa... it is the season to be MERRY after all!!!

I totally understand - Hic...

Don't care about PCI support - have a FF800 smile - sorry about being an "ass" - Christmas cheer/drunk - Hic...

Now - what about EuCon support MC?

Wink, wink, nudge nudge...

Seeing as my post about this has had quite a few views but no responses?

Please?

Some comment about this would be greatly appreciated!

Wait a minute, so how do you think i run this 9632 PCI card in OSX 10.5.4 on Intel quad core processor?

169

Re: DIGICHECK on Mac...

Most of all I would like to know which driver version you use and if Settings dialog and TotalMix work for you. I just heard that the support within DC might be easy to add IF the driver works correctly.

Hackintosh?

There is a HDSP Settings application, and a HDSP Mixer application, both are copied to the Applications folder when you install the driver, and should run in your dock whenever the device is detected. Do both of these work?

Hi Mattias,
driver v.2.62a under OSX 10.5.6.
Preferences & System Settings doesn't work here.
Under Spectral Analyser I can't get hardware driver, only Core (so I can't get out any sound through it).

Re: DIGICHECK on Mac...

The Spec An is a core audio/asio app. There is no built in spec an inside rme cards, the digicheck applications monitor the signal and represent it through a fabricated programe "spectral anyliser". The meters, I imagine, can run at the hardware level - that's my take on digicheck, I could be wrong though.

You can use the spec an on the inputs though at this stage. I would imagine a more comprehensive version to monitor output later - again speculation though, so I could be wrong.

Oh i see what you mean. Yes, both work great. Here's my HDSP Settings:

Until New Years Eve we hope to have Spectral Analyser and Surround included too.

There will be no PPC version, sorry. Now that we have most of the (Intel) calculation routines implemented we know that a port to PPC would be quite cumbersome and most probably not worth the effort anymore.

You do not need to 'test' this version or report smaller problems. Just in case something completely fails please tell us.

It WILL be worth the efforts.
As you probably know, Mac users usually tend to stay longer with their machines than PC users do. One of the reasons may be the higher price you pay for such a jewel. I would rather give up RME than my Mac. Steinberg went the same way: no more update of Cubase for OSX 10.4.! And what will be the result? Even more Mac users will switch to Logic...

Re: DIGICHECK on Mac...

Sorry, I posted this in the beta thread before I realized it probably belonged here.

I'm just not getting it.

I have a Digiface connected to a HDSPe card. When playing a mix from my DAW, I route everything to the Digiface's S/PDIF outputs (25-26). That goes on to my DAC1 and monitors.

The only function in Digicheck that I can meter or see the S/PDIF output with is the Global Level Meter. It's the only one I can set to Hardware Level and select Playback as the source. Any other function I try I only see choices for inputs and Core Audio (Hardware is grayed out) and I cannot tap into the signal of the S/PDIF outputs.

Firmware and drivers are updated to the most recent versions

I'm sure it's some misunderstanding or screw-up on my part, but  I'm just not getting it.

I would appreciate some help and guidance.

Thank you.

Okay. I get that. But how do I check a mix with the other functions? Do I have to output via ADAT and loop it back in or something? Help me out here. I can find no easy way to check a mix with Digicheck if all I can access are the inputs. I must be missing some valuable bit of information, and I'm going to go, "Oh, I see" when you tell me what it is. Right now, Digicheck isn't giving me any more information than TotalMix gives me with its meters.

I read the online help. It tells me what it CAN do but it doesn't tell me HOW to do it.

Thank you.

Which manual? Where is this manual? Are you talking about the TotalMix manual or the Digicheck manual?   Can you give me a link? The TotalMix manual that I have (I could only find the demo manual) doesn't have a chapter (or a section) 30.5. I read a little section in the manual about loopback mode and it made no sense whatsoever.  Please explain how to do this or point out where exactly I can find the answer. I don't understand why you're being so vague to a customer who buys your products and needs your help. RME's literature is difficult to understand.

Thank you.

Never mind, I finally found it in section 4.5 of the TotalMix demo manual and figured it out. Ctrl click on S/PDIF in the output section. That was easy. Finally!
