Topic: Fireface 802 Lost Output on AN1/2

Hi there, I have a Fireface 802 that has been humming along fine for the past few months. I did a session this weekend and seem to have lost output on AN1/2 where my studio monitors are connected.

In TotalMix FX, The Main output is assigned to AN1/2 and I can see the meter is reflecting output when I am playing a guitar DI on the Mic 9 interface

If I assign the Main to AN3/4, and move the speaker cables to 3/4 on the back of the interface, and then add AN3/4 as an output for Mic 9, I can hear the guitar through the studio monitors.

Is it possible my AN1/2 outputs are toast? Is there something I could have done to mute AN1/2 or something further I can test?

Do a Total Reset (menu Options) to check.

Re: Fireface 802 Lost Output on AN1/2

Hi, I did a total reset (Options > Reset Mix > Total Reset) and the same problem exists; still not getting audio out of AN1/2. I've also installed the latest 1.245 driver and flashed to HW rev 20. Does not seem to affect.

I've tested output Mic 9 to AN3/4, 5/6, 7/8 and those all seem to function correctly, but AN1/2 seems dead.

I have also tried the unit on another computer, and still seeing the same. Any other ideas?

Two questions:
- is there absolutely nothing to hear? Or some hiss or noise or something like that?
- did you also tried software playback over these channels?

UCX - FF 400 - Babyface pro - Digiface USB - ADI-2 (original)
Mac mini M1 - Macbook pro - iPad Air2

Re: Fireface 802 Lost Output on AN1/2

No hiss or any audio out of AN1/2. I've tested each pair of outputs, and all the others work

Seeing the same for software playback, this is reaper where the master is sending h/w out to an1/2.

Same thing where if I set "Speakers" in Windows as the primary sound output, I can see the meter lighting up for an1/2 and the output, but nothing out the monitors...

Re: Fireface 802 Lost Output on AN1/2

Sure the cable at the monitors is connected to the right socket ?
XLR cable to analog input, not to AES ?
You have been playing around with different cables XLR and Jack...?

Re: Fireface 802 Lost Output on AN1/2

Aye, 100%. TRS cables go from the AN1/2 output to a Big Knob out to the monitors. If I move the outputs from AN1/2 to anything else and set the mains to the same, it works no problem. Its just the AN1/2 output that seems to be the issue.

Re: Fireface 802 Lost Output on AN1/2

I'm using an 802. Did you recently switch to DAW mode (Options > Operational Mode > DAW Mode)? Long shot, but try loading a previous Workspace (if you've saved any) and see if this sorts things out.

Re: Fireface 802 Lost Output on AN1/2

I have tried toggling that DAW mode vs full routing mode back and forth to no avail...I guess I will have to go the support option. I've tried another windows machine as well as a mac and all are having the same issue, so I don't think its a setting at this point. I appreciate all the suggestions.
