Topic: ADI-2 moving from desktop to main stereo, a few questions

Hi there - I have been enjoying my ADI-2 DAC for a good few years now in my desktop set-up, however I have just purchased a NAD M23 power amp for my main system and I have moved the ADI-2 to operate as a pre-amp and DAC in that set-up.

I have a few questions about the set-up and around upsampliing, I use Roon as my main source but I also have a CD player connected.

My current DAC settings

Auto ref - on
]Mono – off
Width – 1.00
m/s proc – off
polarity - off
crossfeed – off
DA filter – sharp
De-emphasis – auto
Dual eq – off

Have I missed anything obvious that needs adjusting?

I also have a question about upsampling, it was my understanding that if you feed the DAC input rates of 352.8k and higher, you are bypassing the internal oversampling filters. Currently Roon handles some convolution filters anyway, and I have added -6db as headroom, as Roon was showing some clipping, should I have Roon upscale and send Max PCM rate (power of 2), so most likely 705.6/768k? Or is it best to leave any upsampling within the DAC instead?

If I do send via roon, I assume I don’t need to set the DAC to NOS, as it is being bypassed anyway? I am not planning any DSD upsampling, just PCM.

Thanks for reading and any comments!
