Topic: Does the ADI-648 do bi-directional MADI format conversion?

Hi folks,

I'm trying to use an ADI-648 t do bi-directional MADI format conversion.

Here's what I'm trying to do:

I want to connect an Antelope Orion Gen4 converter to the BNC MADI 3 i/o on my HDSPe MADI FX soundcard.

Because the Orion has optical MADI, i need bi-direction BNC <> optical MADI conversion.

So far in my testing it seems the ADI-648 can only do the conversion one way, which is dictated by setting of the button furthermost to the left on the ADI-648 ("input").

Anyone have any ideas about this?

Yes, you choose the  madi input with the Button. Both outputs carry the same signal.
No bidirectional conversion possible, at least to my knowledge.
