Topic: how to choose the line output

Good Sunday and sorry for the very trivial question but I'm a bit inexperienced and I'm trying to understand all the settings.
Anyone know if the line outs automatically turn off when using another input? I basically want to switch between headphones and speakers without having to unplug the headphones and/or turn off the speakers. Iā€™m hoping when I switch to one output all the others turn off.
If you are so kind as to answer me and it is possible on ADi2 dac (but I'm sure of it) can you explain exactly the various steps?
A thousand thanks

Re: how to choose the line output

Assuming you have the ADI-2 DAC: go to Options -> Phones/DSD/Power -> Mute Line and select the Toggle Ph/Line option.

I'm also assuming you know how to navigate the menus and choose options, which can be a little tricky at first smile

If you're using the new ADI-2 Remote app, you can change the setting by clicking on the  DEVICE tab at the top and selecting Toggle Ph/Line from the Mute Line menu in the DEVICE MODE section.

Other devices like the ADI-2 Pro and ADI-2/4 Pro have slightly different menu naming or more options for the muting behavior but are basically the same.  As of today the other devices also don't have the option of using the ADI-2 Remote app so you have to use the buttons and knobs on the device to navigate the menus.

Once you've selected the proper option, pressing and holding the big volume knob on the device will switch between headphones and line output. You can also press and hold the volume button on the infrared remote or click Toggle at the top of the window in the ADI-2 Remote app.

Re: how to choose the line output

thanks for the quick response. I've had the DAC for 3 days and I'm starting to get used to the menu. In fact, understanding is not immediate but I am confident that as the days go by it will be easier. I have the manual in English and as Italian the language is not my forte (Google transiate) and I'm over 60. I know about the app. but I was waiting for the final release. Thank you very much for the help. Now I will try your advice. Good health and happy Sunday

Re: how to choose the line output

I left out one part of finding the proper setting on the device.  You click on the Setup button in order to get to the Options -> Phones/DSD/Power -> Mute Line setting.
