Topic: ADI-2 Pro fs r in Preamp Mode

This may be a silly question but do I still get the AD/DA conversion benefits of the ADI-2 pro if I'm using it in preamp mode? Or do I need to have a digital connection through ADAT or S/PDIF? Yesterday I posted about the correct way to connect my ADI-2 pro fs r to my Babyface Pro and my Cranborne ADAT500 in order to utilize TotalMix from the Babyface, Conversion from the ADI, and a hybrid mixing setup with the Cranborne ADAT500. Cranborne insists that there isn't a way to connect all three through adat which may be true but are there any other options? I currently have the analog ins connected to the mix output of the Cranborne adat500 so that I can monitor through my ADI-2 pro in preamp mode. This leads me to the question am I losing out on the conversion benefits that way or do I need to figure out how to connect everything via ADAT or another way? Thank you for any help you can provide.

AD-conversion is present in every “Mode”.
