Topic: PCIe Slots using PCH or CPU

Hi,

I was searching and didn't find this question answered specifically, but does it matter if the RME HDSPe AIO is connected to a PCIe slot that is connected to CPU or PCH? I'm switching to a EVGA Z690 Classified, and wondering if I can use the PCIe x4 slot which is attached to PCH (chipset) but not CPU. If the difference is negligible I'd prefer to use the x4 slot rather than take up the x16 slot.

Hi aptmusic9,

as a rule always is preferable to use the straight communication to the CPU but in your case (just you can find it out) if you don't experience any issue  you can use without worries any of the PCIe slots.
