Topic: Cannot update firmware on M1 Mac

Hi, I've downloaded the latest firmware updater and tried to run it. Is sees the device but nothing happens when I click update.

any tips?

Hi
You have to install the kext driver (v3.28) first. The flash update tool doesn’t work with USB driver 4.08.

Or you can use another computer with a compatible driver on it if available…

hi, thx.

what is a kext driver? not quite sure what to do - from the description it looks like I have to have a non m1-mac? I don't have an older computer, only this one..
