Topic: ADI-2 Pro FS + ufx+ routing question(Solved)

hello all!

happy new adi-2 pro fs user here.

was expensive but hope it's worth it smile

anyway, here are couple of my questions regarding using this unit along with ufx+.

here are my setup :

ADI hooked UFX+ via AES I/O.

ADI's analog outputs connected to speakers using XLR cables.

UFX+ is connected to mac via TB.

it works great as is, but I'd like to use inputs for

recording Vocal, Guitar and synths.

so my questions are

1. how can I connect ADI's 2 input to UFX+ while I still use ADI's Analog outputs for monitoring?


2. also not sure how I setup reference level for inputs and outputs.

for inputs : it will be connected to 500 series for external preamps.

there are few options here : +4, 13, 19, 24 dBu

Which one should I choose for this task?

If not already done, connect ADI-2 Pro’s AES output to UFX+’s AES input.

“AD/DA Converter Mode”, manual page 38, is well suited for this purpose.

Depends on the 500 series modules, watch their meters for a fitting level.

Same on ADI-2, watch it’s “Analog Input” level meter:

From the main screen, press Encoder1 until you see either the global meter for all I/Os, or the “Analog Input” screen.

Typically +19 dBu is a good start.

I already hooked via AES so Mac's main out is all set.

just set stereo DI and connected to 500 chassis and as you suggested Analog input as +19 dBu.

I didn't know that ADI's analog input is automatically mapped to AES OUT (that goes into UFX+)
