Topic: Babyface Pro FS outputs

I had a question about the Babyface Pro FS outputs. I'm trying to decide between it and the Fireface UCXii.

In addition to a pair of monitors, I would need to connect the interface to the (balanced) inputs of a small stereo amplifier. Can the Babyface Pro FS be configured to do that? There's something in the manual about using an adapter on one of the headphone outputs, but I wasn't sure if I understood correctly. If it can be done, is switching between the two outputs possible via pressing a button on the interface or via software?

Many thanks!

Re: Babyface Pro FS outputs

I would recommend to use the UCX II, because the BBF Pro has no separate line outputs.

BTW the two phones outputs are bridged, there is only one volume settings.

You could used phones outputs, but only unbalanced.

The UCX II would make it also possible to you to use balanced connections towards your HiFi amp (if it supports balanced inputs). This would even make it possible to you to use longer cable runs.

Additionally the UCX II has the richer feature set.

You can compare the interfaces here using my Excel.

Thanks for your reply and the very informative Excel. It's all clear now. Most definitely, the UCX II would be the better buy long-term for my needs.
