Topic: ADI-2 Pro FS as adda and usb interface with analog outboard gear

Reading the manual but just can't get my head around this. My usecase scenario:

- DAW 2bus stereo-mix via USB to Adi 2-Pro FS

- DA-conversion, analog output to analog outboard gear (eq and analog compressors)

- analog in from outboard and AD-conversion in the Adi 2-Pro FS

- Monitoring the signal AFTER the outboard processing and ad-conversion via AES/EBU output (Genelecs with aes/ebu input) and recording it via USB back in the daw.

Is this doable? The last one is the tricky part, I can't find how to playback via aes (and record via usb) the signal after ad-conversion. Is the Dig. Out Source fixed to Main Output i.e. the analog out?

You need to make an insert in your DAW.

You need to send the main out of your DAW to AES.

One more question: is there anything more or better routing-wise I would gain with the new Adi 2/4 Pro? I know there are the analog 3/4 outputs in the back but in my case I'm feeding speakers with aes anyway. So would the implementation of analog outboard be basically the exactly same i.e. making an insert from DAW?
