Topic: RME Fireface UC - AES/EBU conversion possible?

Hello,

I have an RME Fireface UC and currently considering connecting to the digital output of a Pioneer DJM-V10 mixer.
The V10 has only AES/EBU output.

Is there any safe (and tested) way to convert the signal to something compatible with my Fireface UC, or do I need to upgrade to a Fireface UCX II that offers native AES/EBU conversion?

Many thanks, Panos.

Re: RME Fireface UC - AES/EBU conversion possible?

Use the SPDIF input of the UC
with a cable like this :

In the Fireface settings dialog set clock-mode to external coaxial input.
The Pioneer has no settings for sync, sample rate can be set see page 71.
This is the link to the user manual of the Pioneer DJM :
http://docs.pioneerdj.com/Manuals/DJM_V … 3B_manual/

Of course a UFX ll or even better a UFX lll would give you a real AES input and tons of features.
For recording your DJ-set, the UC is pretty much perfect.

Re: RME Fireface UC - AES/EBU conversion possible?

I haven´t tested and cannot as I do not have AES/EBU source, but FF UC manual states it has this input/output (p. 82) and (p.43,44) - there is also pinout of reduction RCA-XLR, if you need one.
