Topic: Fireface UCX II not connecting to my computer?

Hi, I have a RME Fireface UCX II, which I have plugged into my computer via USB and connected to a power source. However, my Fireface is not registering in my device manager. Is there something that I might be doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Without further information it’s not really possible to help.
Windows or Mac? What OS version? RME driver installed? What version?

UCX - FF 400 - Babyface pro - Digiface USB - ADI-2 (original)

Sorry, I'm using Windows, and I have installed the latest version of the RME driver from the RME website

Please confirm driver version number 1.246
The device manager doesn't show Fireface, but may be something else ?
Unknown device ?
When nothing pops up there after connecting the USB cable, then the USB connection failed, test different USB-port and different USB-cable.

Ok, I did some more testing, and despite the fact that the interface is plugged into my power socket and has turned on just fine, when I plugged it into my computer, it told me I had a "power surge" at the USB port because my PC couldn't provide enough power to the device (for the record I have a desktop).

Any idea how I could fix this issue? Thanks again!

The UCX II does not draw any USB bus power. If your computer complains then either the USB cable has a short, or the UCX II. Those cards are not necessary.

Hmm right, then what could my problem be? The interface is plugged into the wall and has turned on fine, and the USB cable I was using was the one which came with the interface
