Topic: Quality difference UFXII vs ADAT FF400 line inputs

Hello there!

I have a short question. I am using two Fireface 400's connected via ADAT to my UFXII. I have some nice synths and outboard gear (f.e. Overstayer Modular Channel) and some really cheap stuff. I was wondering if there is any quality difference in using the line-inputs of the adat ff400's compared to the UFXII's inputs. Or better said: can I just plug-in all my gear 'randomly' or is it good to focus on connecting my better stuff to the UFXII's inputs and vice versa?

Thank you a lot in advance! :-)

There's no difference in sound quality by design and I suspect you won't likely hear a significant one, either. Feel free to try and find out what your ears tell you, though.

Re: Quality difference UFXII vs ADAT FF400 line inputs

You could think of using the analog inputs of FF400 for consumer level devices, as the FF400 has a dedicated reflevel for it.
Otherwise, use digital gain on the UFX II, but which is also not a problem in any way.
