Topic: RME UFX II - All Outputs DC Coupled?

On the RME website it says only the headphone output is DC coupled for the UCX II and UFX II  - "DC-coupled Outputs (Phones)"

I can see the 802 FS and UFX III all outputs are DC coupled.

The only think that makes me consider upgrading to the UFX III so far is slightly lower latency times with USB 3 and MADI which I may or may not use. DC coupled outputs could be the deciding factor if the II doesn't have it.

Or I might get the 802 FS instead. How useful is the screen on the UFX or is it best to use the software anyway?

Thanks

Do not forget the faster converter with the new UFX III and a few other things.

Not sure whether all differences are known by you. You can look up the changes between UFX+ and UFX III here in my blog:
https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/blog/ent … iii-en-de/

Differences in terms of RTL here, not really significant differences:

And if you want to compare the interfaces (technical data + features) see my comparison Excel:

Our website here:

https://www.rme-audio.de

clearly says otherwise for the UCX II.

The UFX II description needs update as it ships with the analog board of the UFX III (all outputs DC coupled) for a longer time already. Its manual is up-to-date, though.

Is there a way to check that ? I bought an UFX II recently and the printed manual that came with it do not contain section 20.3

The printed manual is often a bit older. If this is a current unit it will have or can be updated to firmware version (Hw. Rev. 7) USB 206 DSP 23 CC 208.

Yes I managed to update to that particular firmware so I believe I have one of these upgraded unit. Thanks
