Topic: Updated Fireface UC to firmware 1.27 and driver 4.09 no sound in DAW

I updated my Fireface UC to firmware version 1.27 and driver version 4.09. I'm on Mac running macOS 12.7.1 (which is the latest version I can use with my computer). After the update I can only play sound from apps like VLC, not in Cubase (Cubase 10). The device is visible but no sound comes through the mixer in the DAW and the meters in the RME TotalMix are blank. Is this a known issue?

The device may be in PC mode after the update (see manual page 10).

"Check the correct firmware version by a double click on the rotary encoder button. The
display PC means Windows, the display AP means Mac. The double click automatically
switches between both versions. Note: a change of state is only possible when the unit is
not connected to the computer."

I just checked. The device is set to AP.

How is your Totalmix looking ? May you provide a screenshot from Totalmix as well ?
When DAW is playing.

There is no activity in the faders in Cubase either if I use Fireface as the soundcard. If I change to the built in soundcard the audio is working. So it's not an issue with the track.

It is a problem of your Cubase settings for the audio channels.
In the VST system you have to enable and select output channels.
Totalmix looks fine, obvious.

To be clear: before I updated the firmware and driver everything worked.

Definitely a driver issue. I installed the 3.28B driver and now the soundcard works as expected in Cubase (with no changes made to any settings).
