Topic: Digicheck NG LUFS measurement

Hello everybody, I'm new here but I'm anRME user since some years, I apologise in advance in case a topic like this is already existing. I've a Fireface 800, lately I've upgrade my computer so from high Sierra I was able to go to Monterey and I had to install the new digicheck NG as the old version on Monterey doesn't work. My issue is the following, the new digicheck is driving me crazy concerning LUFS analyzation, with the old one I was the happiest man on the world but this one has completely different parameter concerning loudness, I've got a snapshot of loudness meter in logic and digicheck compared, the signal is a 1000Hz sine wave playing at -18db, as it shows on db meter and RMS and Logic Pro loudness meter all fine, but the digicheck loudness meter as a difference of almost 5db LUFS, is there a way to fix this parameter? Many thanks in advance smile /Users/burbidub/Desktop/Screenshot 2023-11-30 at 11.05.07.png

Re: Digicheck NG LUFS measurement

You have to upload your screenshot to an online image service, like this :
https://imgbb.com
Then provide the link.

Sure you have compared the same type of LUFS ?
Both LUFS-I (integrated) ?

M1-Sonoma, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

Hi, many thanks for the answer and sorry for the link, I had to figure how to upload a picture. Here the picture I got.

Re: Digicheck NG LUFS measurement

You are comparing a 8.1 Surround signal to a stereo-signal.
If you play a stereo file thru Digiface and Logic is there still a difference ?

M1-Sonoma, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

Re: Digicheck NG LUFS measurement

The signal is the same stereo, on digicheck I have the surround analysis option but the signal is the same stereo as you can see from the db and RMS of digicheck

Re: Digicheck NG LUFS measurement

Just removed the surround analysis, same stereo signal.

Re: Digicheck NG LUFS measurement

You did not. The R128 Loudness meter still receives 6 channels of audio instead of 2. Go to Input Selection and uncheck the x in the Active column for all channels except LR.
