Topic: Madiface Pro Audio dropouts on Windows 11, not on iMac (Workaround)

I've switched my MadiFace Pro setup to Windows 11 but I've been getting some strange audio dropouts. It happens very quick and randomnly, usually if I'm browsing in the internet or in windows explorer. I've played around with the different latencies but still no luck.

I also tried on my iMac and I don't seem to be having this issue. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: Madiface Pro Audio dropouts on Windows 11, not on iMac (Workaround)

So I think I found the issue if anyone runs into it. Apparently it has to do with when my Ethernet is enabled, specifically with a Realtek Gaming GbE Family Controller where I connect my network cable.

Disabling it won't work here because I use the Ethernet to connect to a remote summing mixer which sends back to my MadiFace. So my workaround is,

Open Control Panel
Open Network and Sharing
Click Ethernet
In Ethernet Status window, click Properties
In Ethernet Properties window, click Configure
Go to Advanced and set Auto Disable Gigabit to Re-Link, Battery or AC
Open command prompt as administrator
type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press enter
type "netsh winsock reset" and press enter.
Reboot

While it works, the drawback is that it caps the Ethernet speed from 1.0Gbps to 100Mbs.

Maybe the RME support folks know a way to force the MadiFace not to be affected by Ethernet spikes?

Mine has 'Speed & Duplex' where you can set the Ethernet speed to 100 MB (and others) directly. Maybe you overlooked that one.
