When the outputs are unbalanced, then you need a TS (not TRS) cable.

Furthermore, this makes no sense. An analogue output (for headphones) cannot be used as an analogue input. At least that much should be clear.
While we are at it, there were some people in the past not clear on what product they own exactly. There are some RME products where the product sounds similar, but the products I/O and features are not the same.
So, please confirm which Babyface product you have exactly? The old Babyface or the newer Babyface Pro or the latest Babyface Pro FS?
Your synthesizer can produce stereo signals and has unbalanced analogue outputs.
On the synthy side, you require two cables with TS plugs (unbalanced) on that side.
On the Babyface side it can be different depending on what product you have exactly, and in the case of BBF Pro [FS] which of the 4 analogue inputs you want to use for what purpose.
As far as I remember the
Babyface has only two analogue inputs which can be used as Mic or Line input (AN2 as Inst input) with an XLR plug. There you would need two TS to XLR cables.
Babyface Pro and Pro FS have four analogue inputs. To keep the Mic/Line inputs 1+2 free for mics, you could use AN 3+4 IN (can be used as line or inst input). Depending on which device you have and which inputs you choose, you need to look whether your cable needs on the Babyface side either XLR or 6.3 mm plug.
