Topic: external gain control

Hi,

Have searched to no solution, not sure if my terminology is correct...

Can the Input Gain on a FireFace UCX be controlled externally other than manually from TotalMix FX?
I found some info on using midi but no straight forward guide...

The scenario is this:
Input 1 will be recieving a signal which is variated but needs to reach RME ADC at the same level.

So the gain will be added in 1db increments as the signal coming into the device will be decreased in 1db increments.
My idea is to stay at the same digital conversion level via increasing gain to a decreasing signal..

Hope I've made sense of the concern

All MIDI parameters are listed in the manual in detail.

Please mind that the gain increase in steps may be audible with certain types of signal, this is not a smooth analog transition.
