Topic: star quad cable wiring question

When using the CANARE L-4E6S

2 white wires for left channel, 2 blue wires for right channel.
2 white wires for right channel, 2 blue wires for left channel.
Is this the correct configuration?

It's supposed to be the same color for each polarity.
but it's confusing in balanced headphone mode.

Re: star quad cable wiring question

You're using star quad for balanced headphones? Then the shield isn't connected to anything, right?  Just use whatever you want to use... the is no 'standard'.

Re: star quad cable wiring question

I have an HD600.
There is no way to use the shield.

If there's no problem, I don't have to worry anymore.

Typically 2 whites would be used for left and 2 blues for right.

But - if you don’t have a continuity tester, you likely will mess up polariity.

So, I suggest to use the whites for hot and the blues for cold.
This way you only need to identify left-right, which is easy.

On ADI-2 there’s no sound difference on either configuration.
