Topic: USB3 PCIe card

This is an alternative to Sonnet cards (with FL1100 USB3 chipset)
USB3 chipset: ASM3142 and UASP support.

UFX III and ADI-2 Pro FS R BE connected to it, no issues with MADIface driver 0.9831

My Sonnet card had coil whine, I replaced it with this card.

Two of those cards in my setup..

Of course, I would like to get a card with 4x USB3 controller again, but currently I see no suitable cards on the market, or they have USB-C which is of no use for me (unnecessary tiny plugs and "adapter hell").

This combination of 2-port cards fits now quite well into my mainboards socket layout / capabilities, except the card in the last socket.

The Startech USB 3.2 card runs well in combination with the Startech active extension cables like this one here

Different lengths are available (3, 5, 10 m)

Re: USB3 PCIe card

This is apparently also good for UFX+ ?
Apparently it also works on Linux, which is a good thing.
At that price, I might even get excited to test it

For everything using USB3 and MADIface driver.

My current slot allocation, in case you are interested. I took care that every card gets the needed bandwidth in terms of PCIe version and number of PCIe lanes):

PCIe Slot 1 (PCIe 3.0 x16): nVidia RTX 4070, PCIe 4.0 x16, performance in PCIe 3.0 x16 socket sufficient
PCIe Slot 2 (PCIe 3.0 x4): covered by GPU, reason for buying the 4070, only needs 2 sockets, one will be free for 10Gbit LAN card
PCIe Slot 3 (PCIe 3.0 x8): Intel X710-DA2, 2x SFP+ (10 Gbit)
PCIe slot 4 (PCIe 3.0 x8): Startech USB 3.2, 2x 10Gbit (1x ASM 3142), PCIe 3.0 x2
PCIe Slot 5 (PCIe 2.0 x4, lanes from chipset): Sonnet Allegro Pro, USB3-PRO-4P10-E (2x ASM 3142), PCIe 2.0 x4.
PCIe Slot 6 (PCIe 2.0 x2, lanes from chipset): Sonnet Allegro, USB3-4PM-E (1x Fresco Logic FL1100EX), PCIe 2.0 x1

Removed old photos, need time to make new ones with the latest layout.
