Topic: Fireface UC suddenly became noisy.

Hello all, I haven't had to post here for sometime, as up to now my RME UC has been working flawlessly.

It was purchased in 2015, and just recently I am getting noise on playback.  I haven't changed anything in my home studio; no new gear, nor new things plugged in.

Have tried changing the mains plug around, different USB plugs.

It happens with all media.  Sound through my computer without the interface, is normal.

I've recorded the noise, unfortunately I can't attach files.

Any advice very much appreciated.

Is this noise visible in Totalmix ?

No.  It only occurs with playback, so isn't visible in Totalmix.

If I turn Main all the way down in Total mix, the noise is still audible with something playing through Totalmix.

It points towards defective output, I would contact support ( support@rme-audio.com ).

It stopped after I moved the power supply around, perhaps this is a coincidence.

Is it possible that it's the power supply causing unwanted noise?

The original power supply from RME has no issue or noise.
Others can do but normally don't
