Topic: Why does the volume reset?

Hi.

When I restart my computer, the Master mix, starts from all the way up maxed volume, and I do the mistake to open something and it plays at highest loudness until I turn it up. A bit annoyed by this, is there a way to set a default start-up volume? So if I plug the interface in/out, or restart my pc, it won't cause the sudden very high sound.

Thanks.

Re: Why does the volume reset?

Store the desired volume in TM FX in a snapshot and configure in Preferences:

1. Snapshots: Do not load "--"
2. [x] Always init DSP devices with TotalMix settings

You need to solve your level mismatch.
0 dBFS is simply 0 dBFS and not a volume level at all…
If it "hurts" at 0 dB, then your setup is suboptimal in terms of level mismatch.

Regarding Level mismatches and solutions, see this interesting article of Matthias Carstens (RME):

I also offered a few suggestions here and there in the forum, e.g.:
