On windows 11 the volume up/down keys only control the volume of my system audio, which is the way I prefer it, so I can easily adjust my system audio volume (i.e. DAW, backing tracks, etc) without affecting the volume of my hardware inputs, which I've usually already set with totalmixfx.

However on mac the volume keys control the main outs when totalmixfx is open which is not the workflow I prefer.  I adjust system volume far more often than hardware input volumes so it's very inefficient to have to open totalmixfx every time some backing track is a little loud or I want to hear more/less of my DAW without affecting how loud my Axe-FX is.

In the past with other interfaces I've been able to use SoundSource to control my system volume with the volume keys on mac but that's not working with RME. Even with soundsource open the volume keys adjust the main outs fader instead of the system audio volume.
