Topic: Occasional white noise on RME Babyface Pro FS

I'm using the RME Babyface Pro FS as Windows default playback device, listening to music, and occasionally hear white noise for 1-3 seconds in the middle of the music.
I'm listening through headphones, defining Analog (3+4) as my output device.

What can I do in order to eliminate this white noise phenomenon?

First thing I would do is update the firmware
The Fireface Settings Dialog is showing the firmware and driver version number.
Firmware should be 206

Firmware up-to-date, driver is correct.
What else ? Are you running a DAW with plugins ?
Some plugins when in Demo produce white noise periodically...

Re: Occasional white noise on RME Babyface Pro FS

I thought that maybe I need to change something in the settings in order to solve this problem.
But maybe the driver\firmware is not good.

Few years ago, I had a problem with RME Babyface Pro(not FS), of distorted sound that start occasionally in the middle of the music, and it was solved only after firmware and driver update.
I posted about it and you can see that here:

You can switch the device to CC-mode and check if the issue persists.

I updated today to driver version 1.250, and I still have this problem.

And does not go computer to sleep or so? And what OS? If Win do you have Intel with big-little architecture? OS might move player thread to e-cote, find it is not good idea and move it back.... In that case maybe Lasso might help. Or before using that just try to switch e-cores off, to see if that helps...
