Topic: [Solved] Multiface disconnecting

Hi there, sorry if this has been posted before

I just bought a Steinberg Audiolink 96 (rebranded RME multiface) and I'm trying to use it with my Win10 system

Tried with latest driver and 4.29 driver
Firmware is up to date (1.7)

Everything has been properly installed but it seems that I'm losing the I/O box after a few seconds.

If I disconnect the I/O box, wait a few seconds and plug it back, the red host led turns on and totalmix detect the interface. Then after a few seconds Totalmix loses the connection and I'm unable to use the multiface at all (no sound in windows, and "hdspf init failed" in my DAW)

please help me, anyone ^^

Re: [Solved] Multiface disconnecting

Sounds like internal power unit is dying, it was probably never replaced before and the reason why it was sold ?

M1-Sonoma, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

Use the I/O box with an external power supply.

Re: [Solved] Multiface disconnecting

Well It does makes sense !
I'll give it a try.
just to be sure, if I read correctly the manual a 12v 1.25A switching power supply is provided with the PCMCIA model, but any switching PS with enough current capacity providing from 8 to 28v can do the job, right ?

Thanks !

Re: [Solved] Multiface disconnecting

Yes, the old units were quite universal. But I would recommend to stay near 12V DC.
