Topic: Sending audio to Zoom, Google Meet, Teams etc

In regards to a Fireface UCX 2, how do I send audio to a recipient on the other end of a video conference call?
Also, be able to hear them?

Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and any other of these type of programs.

Loopback on channels 1/2 is need.
Those software do playback and receive only on channels 1/2, you have to route audio to hardware output channels AN1/2.

How to do this :
Click onto this AN 1/2 output channel, it becomes highlighted (activated for submix (routing signals to it))
Pull up the fader of the mic input signal from your microphone, the signal is routed to the output An 1/2.
In this output channel click the wrenchtool button and click the Loopback button.

I'm not seeing an 'AN 1/2' in the hardware output though.

Maybe you assigned this channel to "Main Out" in the TM FX control room?

Looks like that was the case.
Seems to be working now.
Thank you SOOOO much!

Glad you can work, and thanks for the feedback

So I have this working fine on my ADAT microphone (ADAT 4).

But when I go to record on my townsend labs l22 sphere which is plugged into Analog 1 and 2, I get a very WILD feedback loop.

Yes because channels 1 and 2 are the channels that Zoom use.
Click onto the hardware output 1/2 and pull down the fader of hardware input 1/2 (the mic)
Better use mic input 3 or 4

Is there a mic input 3 or 4?  Non-XLR, right?

Otherwise, I can just move that mic over to my ADAT (focusrite Octopre).

Re: Sending audio to Zoom, Google Meet, Teams etc

Ah yes your interface is the UCX ll it has only two mic inputs.
In this case better use the Octopre.
To prevent the feedback be sure not to send from software playback 1/2 to the hardware output 1/2 (where Loopback is enabled, it would send the Zoom-output to the Zoom-input).

Aaaand now, after messing with 'talkback' (see my other post on that) My google meet guest is not hearing my PLAYBACK audio. They can hear my microphone (adat 4) but not system/DAW playback.

Re: Sending audio to Zoom, Google Meet, Teams etc

And if you would send the audio out of the DAW to output 3/4 you can route software playback channels 3/4 to the hardware output 1/2 and it will be fine.
Before you was sending from DAW to output 1/2, this was mixed together with the MEET output and send back to MEET created a feedback.
You have to understand channels 1/2 are occupied by ZOOM or Google MEET, therefor use channels 3/4 for the DAW and make the mix for the Loopback in Totalmix.

Re: Sending audio to Zoom, Google Meet, Teams etc

It WAS working fine before the 'talkback' stuff though.

I'm not exactly sure how to change my DAW's (Reaper) output to 3/4.

in the routing window (every track can open it) add hardware output 3/4, in the master track select this.

Re: Sending audio to Zoom, Google Meet, Teams etc

First of all @waedi , you've been a tremendous help in this, and other, post.
I really appreciate it.

So I've gotten things to work with Google Meet.  I can send live mic feed from DAW (without changing the routing) to recipient and it sounds fine. I can also play audio from DAW and it sounds fine.

It's Zoom that's being a problem for me.  Playback audio in DAW is fine but live mic audio (via DAW) is echoey.

Here's my setup so far.

Re: Sending audio to Zoom, Google Meet, Teams etc

what ? Live-mic via DAW ?
You didn't tell this before.

Can you make another screenshot from Totalmix where you click the hardware output 1/2 instead of the main-out ?
I gueass you are sending the Mic from Adat input directly there additional to the signal from the DAW.
The echo comes from the Adat input, you are sending this mic signal directly to the main-out additional to the DAW signal, this doubles the mic signal with delay, this makes echo.
Pull down the fader of Adat 4 fully for both outputs, main-out and output 1/2.
