Topic: Can I play vinyl through ADI 2 DAC FS with Rega A2D?

Hello all. I've been very pleased with the ADI2 DAC FS feeding my active ATCs from Tidal for 2 years.

Now I want to play vinyl.

Can I use the USB digital out from this https://www.rega.co.uk/products/fono-mini-a2d as USB input to the ADI2 DAC?

If not, is there a way to use the Rega to feed to my Macbook while simultaneously "monitoring" the output of the Macbook via the RME in real time - which will achieve the same goal as playing vinyl?

You can‘t connect the Rega A2D to ADI-2 DAC directly via USB

If you can listen to it on your Mac‘s internal speakers, you can even choose ADI-2 DAC as audio destination instead.

1) is this midi screen useful for feeding the REGA into the Macbook, and then feeding the output from the Macbook to the RME's USB input?

2) what is the best way to feed vinyl to the ADI2 DAC if the above doesn't work?

I‘m not so much into Mac, but yes, that should be it.
If you hear other sounds through ADI-2, the Rega should go there too.

Probably you need to configure the app that you use for listening to the Rega A2D.
Just give it a try.

The best way to play vinyl with the ADI-2 series is ADI-2/4 Pro SE.
It has a very advanced phono preamp built in.

On ADI-2 DAC any “Vinyl” / phono preamp with AD converter and SPDIF Optical or Coax, or AES digital can be connected.
