Topic: Random 'dropouts'

I've noticed a couple times that my audio will just drop out while recording.
It'll come back but wondering what might be causing this.

I had the 'Auto Level' on with my hardware input (ADAT 4) so I'll turn that off for now to see if that helps/is the culprit.

buffer issues?

Also a possible culprit: Google Meet?
I've definitely heard it happen during sessions on google meet.

Yes, of course.
Imagine how many pieces are in the chain ?
A guy at the other side of the planet,
his microphone
his interface
his computer
maybe a wifi router
the internet transfer over the world
your internet modem
your network router
your computer
the conference software
the audio driver to your interface
your headphone

every piece in that chain can be a culprit.

On top of that these conference softwares Teams Zoom Meet etc, are not well built for multichannel audio interfaces.

Dropouts and glitches are to expect, unfortunately.
