Topic: Fireface 800 Sending midi constantly

Hi there, i'm new to the forum, this is my first topic!

I bought recently a MIDI interface "iconnectivity mio XL" to connect all my gear in the studio.
Everything works fine except for my Fireface 800. The problem involves the MIDI OUT of the interface. As soon as i play the first midi clip in ableton the midi out starts to send permanently all the notes included in the clip in a random way, even after i stopped the clip. I made a short video of that to make it clear.

any help is much appreciated.
I'm using a macbook With OS sierra 10.12.6 with a fireface 800 connected via firewire 800 cable.

In Totalmix menu Options, switch off both Midi-control and OSC-control
and in the Options settings - Midi : Disable Mackie protocol.

Thanks for replying.

I disabled both MIDI-control and OSC-control, disabled Mackie protocol too.

The problem is still going

Please use Midi-Monitor to check if the midi notes coming from Ableton.
Disconnect FF800 and play the Midi from Ableton
Midi Monitor is a free software for Mac

Solved.

The solution was just removing the 5 pin cables in and out from both the midi interface and the FF800.
i'll use midi over usb to let interact the computer (ableton) with the midi interface.

Still not figured out what was going on with the midi notes storm but now all it's working as it should.

Glad you solved it, the Midi-Monitor tool is a good thing when working with midi.

I used it to figure out what was going on. It helped me a lot.

Also made me discover that my arc sends a lot of midi messages. I bought it to use it just only as a volume master knob, i wonder if it can be like that and if i can make it stop sending all that midi. i'll try to figure it out

There is a firmware update for the ARC USB that makes it use SysEx instead of note data.
