Well - the instrument inputs are being used by the multi effects as stereo - to run a split signal with different effects. The Preamp is running into Babyface via XLR - so as a DI.

Preamp is pure simple mic'ed amp/cab tone - no effects nothing.

The multieffects is for effects overload - so different usages - and all inputs on babyface are being put to good use
