Topic: Fireface UFX II and Fireface400 as adat line input expander

Hey, I have a UFX ii and want to use my old fireface 400 to get extra line inputs via adat. If i go this method then will the fireface 400 inputs be capable of reaching 192khz sample rates? Or will i be locked to a lower sample rate. I plan on not using the firewire connection and just only using it as adat.

If this isn't possible any suggestions for an adat interface or inputs that I should buy for this purpose

Thanks

Re: Fireface UFX II and Fireface400 as adat line input expander

Hi
At 192kHz, there are only two channels left over ADAT. The full amount of eight channels is only possible at 44.1/48kHz. For two channels at 192kHz I would either use AES or SPDIF instead of ADAT.
The FF400 can be used as standalone converter, but it needs to be configured first:
- Proper channel routings in TotalMix (analog inputs to digital outputs and vice versa) and upload to the internal storage.
- clock settings (master/slave) and maybe other details in Fireface settings app and also here store / upload to the unit.
