Topic: RME ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition - idle Sleep working on Windows 11?

Hi,

Any Windows user which can confrim that Winndows goes into Standby, when no Audio is running?

I am happy with the RME Driver running an legacy HDSP 9863 with an PCIe Addapter working fine, connected with a RME USB ARC, where the ARC is preventing Windows 11 to go into sleep. Tried various hours to fix it and I do not expect RME to fix is as it is a part of the driver for a legacy hardware.  All is perfect beside that windows gooes not into sleep, when the ARC is connected.

If I get a new device it is the ADI 2 Pro, struggle as it is a decent price and as it is "just" a hobby.
However if I buy , probably in the next 1-2 monts and if it does Windoes to go into sleep I would send it back.
It is clear then running a DAW processing sound , or processing an audio stream it should not go into standby.

Any Windows 11 user of the ADI 2 Pre, with an AM5 mainboard,  Asrock which can report that Windows goes into sleep when idle and no audio is processed?

I also have same issue.
USB ARC prevents my Windows 11 going to sleep.
I use Fireface UCX II + ARC USB on Windows 11. (ARC USB is connecting to my PC)
UCX II doesn't, but ARC USB does prevent sleep.

I tried followings but it didn't solve my case.
> powercfg /requestsoverride DRIVER "USB Audio Device" SYSTEM
While, just phisically disconnect USB solves the issue.

Is there anyone with the same symptoms?

Did you try to exit TotalMix FX instead?

Thanks for replies, was quite busy with buiness issues.

Signed off from work after 23 years in IT last week. smile Not going to waste my brain ressources for a the big bad companies anymore. Guess will be the first real summer since...  I dont know.

But to topic:

- Unplug was what I used to before, and I typically only plugged it in when I need it, when you plug it in, you forget it to plug it off for on party. Went out last night, rogot it  and PC was running the whole last night smile
I tried as well with PowerCFG know and then over some months,  had 40 different records in registry from all attempts.
Dont spend time on it, it doesn't  work now, unless some code will be changed.

Micrososft has changed very likely something in Windows 11  audio processing along with the sleep area, to keep the sytem off from leep when there are audio sreaming devicesyou see with powercfg browser and other Applications when they stream audio. I suppose that some features from ARC making Windows assume that this device streams audio and  thus prevent is to sleep.

Yeah closing Total FX and the lights of the ARC goes out, simple... wink
I think this is better as unplug , prevent Totaal FX from AutoStart, start the application ii needed. If you reboot it stays off next time. Put a shortcut on the Desktop.

Beside I assume that this issue does't exist withe ADI 2?
Want to avoid to by it during summer to send it back.

As said do not have an problem with the problem I see with the legacy hardware I run. 

RME is doing great job in driver support for old devices with that given stability.
I was confused that I have seen the Driver updates this year.
