Topic: Fireface UFX no sound but can 'see' audio in TotalMix and display

I woke up this morning and my M2 Ultra Mac Sonoma 14.2 couldn't produce audio.  I can see the VU displays passing whatever audio I send it bot in total mix and on the front screen.  Firmware v361 and drive 3.31.

It's all been working fine for months.  I have not updated any software.   I tried reinstalling the driver, restarting everything. etc.  but I still can't hear anything.  There is no audio in the headphones either.  Other audio outputs work fine. 

Any ideas?

Did you try a Total Reset in Totalmix and done the routing again ?
It's very unclear what's going on, you say it couldn't produce audio, but you also say other audio outputs work fine.
That's contradicting.
A screenshot of your Totalmix would be helpful.
And also, I would upgrade the driver to the 410.

Reboot computer and UFX. How old is that UFX? Power supply might be defective. BTW, Sonoma is at 14.5.

Are - for whatever reasons - the permissions gone lost to use the 'microphone' in macOS system settings >> privacy/security ...?

Thanks guys.  I updated the driver to 4.10, no sound still - I don't want to update Sonoma any further as it was working fine.  I want to keep my system frozen in a way that audio works.  This is my music studio machine not my general computer.  I'll update Sonoma if I have to but why?  It worked yesterday...

Here is a screen shot of TotalMix - you can see audio passing through from the system to the Main Mix and one of the headphone mixes.  No sound comes out of these outputs.  I wasn't sure how to link directly to the forum so it's a google drive link, sorry.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KB5QP9 … share_link

What I meant by other outputs work was that other output devices work.  I can switch output to my computer speaker or monitor speaker and the sound switches right over.

With regard to 'microphone' in System >> privacy/security - total mix is not one of the apps.  Things like Cubase and Kontakt are there.  Should there be an RME app in there?

The unit is defective, sorry. Analog inputs aren't working either, they all show "UFL". No AD and DA conversion happening. Please contact the retailer or local distributor for service options.
