Topic: Clicks and pops again-and saving setups

I am having "clock issues" sounding glitches lately. Sometimes they can be quite nasty, sometimes just some clicks and pops, but always disturbing and confidence sapping.

My system is two Digiface USBs on a windows 10 system with a 10700k and an ASUS P7490 mobo.

This was running fine for a very long time and as far as I know, not too much has changed aside from windows, video card and reaper updates. Also I have a Tonex pedal, a TC pedal and a Helix that I plug into the USB from time to time, but I have disabled their audio interface functions, and had them unplugged while still getting these issues.

I ruled out actual external clock issues by just setting clock to internal and using the headphone out. Still same issues

MADIFace settings is showing no errors or issues in the counter

LatencyMon shows everything aok, even while these pops and glitches are going on. https://gearspace.com/board/attachments/music-computers/1115563d1716684843-windows-punching-me-nads-lately-latmon_pt5iccyztf.png

In order to attempt a fix, I moved both interfaces onto my Rosewill USB3 add on card, but that seemed to make things even worse.

I want to try to use just one interface and see how that goes, but I want to save my existing configuration if at all possible. From the manual, I think my workspace saves all my settings and snaps but I'm not 10000% sure. Is this the proper way to do it?

Also, I'd like to just use the newest of the two interfaces, is there a way to tell which is which?

Yes, Workspace is the way to go. Also note your device settings (take screenshot of Settings dialogs).

DF USB new/old doesn't matter.

How are these two DF USB synced?

Also they would gain from being run on different USB busses.

Finally make sure they have the same Buffer size set in the Settings dialog.

Re: Clicks and pops again-and saving setups

Hey Matthias! Well holy hell man, first of all, one DF follows adat sync from one of my AD/DA's. The other DF is adat sync from the other DF

So for years, this thing had been awesome and rock solid with both interfaces connected to this add on Renesas/NEC four port PCI-e USB card. But now its weird

So I tried many many things, all sorts of system optimizations and nothing really worked.

Then yesterday, I stuck the interfaces onto the motherboard's own USB buss alongside like three webcams and assorted other crap...

And now its running both interfaces great at 64 samples.

I'm so confused, but if its working, then great! I have since moved most of the other USB stuff onto the USB PCI-e card
