Topic: Totalmix on ipad 2

Hi. Until today, I have been using successfully 'RME Remote' on my old ipad 2. For some reason today it updated itself and stopped working. Firstly, why does the apple store allow an app to update to a version which doesn't work on the hardware? Really bad. It should check...Secondly does anyone know how I can download the old version? I think the new version is called Totalmix Remote.

Has my old ipad finally become a brick?

Re: Totalmix on ipad 2

Have you tried removing it and reinstalling? Normally you should be able to get the last compatible version. What's the iOS version here? Also, what exactly doesn't work?

Re: Totalmix on ipad 2

Hi. Yes but it only offers me the latest version, which it says isn't compatible when I try to install it.. I think what I had installed previously was 'RME Remote' which isn't available on the apple store. Any way of getting old versions? (PS was an ipad 2, not 1 as I thought previously).

Have a look at the system requirements as noted in the App store for TotalMix. Does it match your iPad OS?

Re: Totalmix on ipad 2

@chrisyking:

You mix things together.

For your already "buyed (free)" Totalmix Remote:

  • Delete the TM Remote App

  • In App Store (i assume you use the same appleid, you already bought the Remote app time ago)

  • go to your "previously purchased" apps (not the global search option)

  • Re-download it from here - should tell you that you can only install latest compatible version - click OK.

For a new purchase of the "real" Totalmix App :

  • General Apple restrictions: It is not possible to buy apps on Hardware, which does not meet the minimum (i)OS requirements, provided by the Developer

  • That means: Totalmix (v 1.94) currently, requires minimum iPadOS 12 - an iPad 2 (latest iOS 9.3.6) does not comply.

  • The only official-apple-options:

  • - A) Get an iPad which supports minimum iPadOS 12, buy it here, then you can re-download it the same way, as mentioned above on your iPad2

  • - B) If a "family member" has a current supported iPad, he:she:it could purchase it for you. Then you can re-download it the via the family purchases options (your family member has to allow access for purchased items in the icloud settings)

  • Note - Whatever Option you choose - you will only be able to install the Totalmix 1.80 Version (latest iOS 9.3.x compatible version for your iPad 2)
