Topic: MSI VECTOR 16 HX as a recording laptop / DPC Latency

Hi.

At present I am thinking of purchasing a MSI Vector 16 HX to record vox, guitar and bass with the Babyface Pro.

Some specs are as follows:

  • CPU - Intel® Core™ i9 processor 14900HX / 24 cores (8 P-cores + 16 E-cores), Max Turbo Frequency 5.8 GHz

  • Video memory - 8GB GDDR6

  • RAM - 32GB (16*2)

  • Storage - 2TB SSD

More specs - https://www.umart.com.au/product/msi-ve … 63au-76626

Just wondering if there is anyone out there that is using something similar that can provide any feedback?  Is there anything about this laptop that raises alarm bells?

One thing that I'm a little worried about is DPC latency.  My understanding is that this is an important factor to consider.  People tend to refer to this page for benchmarking... https://www.notebookcheck.net/DPC-Laten … 376.0.html

On this page there is an entry "MSI Vector 16 HX A14V" which links to a review to a very similar laptop except it has an RTX 4080 GPU instead of an RTX 4070 GPU (perhaps there are some other differences I can't see).
The DPC latency is listed at 1602.6 microseconds.  Is this something that I should be alarmed about?  I haven't seen any recommendations as to acceptable levels with respect to this list.  I'm guessing that given tweaking can be done to improve this that there is no definite answer to this.  I'm just wondering if anyone has any general guidance to provide that may be useful?

Thanks very much.
