Topic: DAW won't sync to UFX+
I recently upgraded to an M1 Max MBP from a 2018 Intel model, and have been having crazy synchronization issues ever since. This machine is being used as part of a Dante/MADI setup with multiple devices and other laptops / hardware recorders taking digital feeds, but I have isolated this particular issue down to just the new computer and the primary interface, which is a UFX+.
With all other devices off or disconnected (including master clock, so just using the RME internal clock in this test), Logic stutters occasionally on playback and recorded files either incur dropouts or repeat small sections of waveform as the DAW catches back up. It's clear Logic is running too fast compared to other clocks - when recording the same channel routed back through a Dante stream, and comparing it to the hardware recorder it came from (Sound Devices 888), Logic is running roughly a full second faster every 10 minutes than other devices on the network!
There are no issues when monitoring live inputs from the interface, the Dante stream, or the hardware recorders. The issue is clearly in communication between interface and DAW (also tested in PT, which just stops record at the first sign of an issue). My old laptop works fine.
I'm currently running interface and recording SSD through an OWC Thunderbolt 4 dock, but I have tested with direct connections and the issues were still present.
Pulling my hair out trying to resolve this. Any thoughts?
