Topic: Volume limiters

I’m using RME UFX as the centrepiece of an active speaker setup. One concern that I’ve got is that a problem with the USB attached computer overdrives and damages speaker drivers. Is it possible, in Total Mix, to limit the maximum output signal on each of the analogue outputs?

Re: Volume limiters

Active speakers should be built with internal limiters or protection.
You have to control the output manually, lower the fader to -10 or so.

The impact of lowering the fader is to just reduce the gain applied to the input signal. I’m hoping to set a limit on the output volume irrespective of the input signal. Is this possible?

I'm afraid, no.

Re: Volume limiters

Not a limiter, but maybe consider using attenuators:

Yes, not quite the solution that I am after but a very helpful link nonetheless. Thanks.
