Topic: How many channels do I really have at 24/192 with MADIFace & M32-DA?

Hello,

When I read the specifications on the MADI interfaces, let's use the MADIFace XT for reference, it claims:

64 x 24/48k
32 x 24/96k
16 x 16/192k

The M32-DA has 32 total channels capable of 24/192.  The MADIFace XT has 3 MADI I/O.  Does this mean:

MADI 1 I/O:
64 x 24/48k
32 x 24/96k
16 x 16/192k

MADI 2 I/O:
64 x 24/48k
32 x 24/96k
16 x 16/192k

MADI 3 I/O:
64 x 24/48k
32 x 24/96k
16 x 16/192k

Is that correct?  So can I actually do 32 x 192k with 1 MADIFace XT and 1 M32-DA using MADI I/O 1 & 2?

Yes, but with MADI 1 or 2 (optical) plus MADI 3 (coaxial). In the M-32 Pro you need to divide 16 channels on optical and 16 channel on coaxial MADI on 192kHz.

No. The M-32 DA has only one MADI input operational, so can only provide 16 channels at 192 kHz.

The M-32 DA Pro has two MADI inputs operational, it can do 2 x 16 channels @ 192 khz with the MADIface XT.

1st I was irritated what you mean by this, but I think it means that with the M-32 Pro you can use MADI optical and BNC in parallel to achieve 16+16 at quad speed.

So it sounds to me now, that the M-32 DA can only use MADI optical or BNC, but not both, so only 16 at quad speed.

Is that correctly understood?
