Topic: So many models, what's the latest firmware for "RME ADI2DACFS"?

I got this from Amazon, and quite like it.

ADI-2 DAC FS

Which is labeled in Amazon as "RME ADI2DACFS".

Where can I find the latest firmware for it? On this forum so many sticky threads with various version numbers. How can I find my number?

Every vendor has an official download page on the web server.

Sticky posts in the forum have been posted for pre-release software.
Most likely, RME keeps them for longer, as they often contain interesting discussions or feedback from customers.

Wait, the download worked. I'm on Mac OSX.

But the zip file has two RTF readmes, and one .app file. What to do with the app file?

My Mac is not connected to RME. I need to get the "Flash drive" version to put on a USB stick and do this firmware upgrade to the RME device itself, yes? What's the process?

Found this -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtEH83rcQ8Q&t=59s

But this has two issues:

1. Requires my Mac to be connected to the RME device. That's inconvenient as RME is in a bookshelf.
2. The cable required needs some audio USB on the RMe side. Where to find this cable?

Is there a wifi way, or some easier way to do this?

Re: So many models, what's the latest firmware for "RME ADI2DACFS"?

The cable is a regular USB cable.
Connect the DAC to a computer, Mac or Windows, run the FUT-app.
The whole process takes not more than a few minutes you can place the DAC back on the book shelf afterwards.
The DAC has no Wifi, there is no other way than connecting with an USB cable.
Firmware updates for a DAC is very rare, you can expect it is the last one.
