Topic: note on CalDigit TS3+, RME MADIface Pro, Short Safety Offset

Just making a post about something I noticed today, in case anyone else stumbles across this issue.

I'm using an RME MADIface Pro with a CalDigit TS3+ dock, a minimum-spec m1 macbook pro, Ableton Live, and MaxMSP.

When both Max and Ableton are open, and the interface is plugged into the red USB, Short Safety Offset must be off or else any playback channels that are sending signals will cause single-sample clicks in the corresponding input channels.

When the interface is plugged into any of the green USBs, Short Safety Offset can be on.

This isn't an issue if Ableton and Max aren't both open simultaneously.

Interesting... After overlooking the Calldigit Support FAQs, i wonder, you have that issue.

Thus i do not have a Calldigit Dock - maybe some hints you could try/check:

It seems your red marked port is allocated to the 10Gbps Controller. See:

Maybe you have something else connected to the 10Gbps USB-C port (Group 3), too? Sth like a external HDD, etc...

Another possible cause: Did you check that your Dock is recognized as a TB3 Device and not as a USB Device?

It's not a big issue really, but thank you for your reply!

I have nothing connected to the 10Gbps USB-C port, and the Dock is recognized as a TB3 Device.

Ok. Sadly i havent such a dock. Have just a lenovo dock here, which is a TB3 Uplink, too. But couldn't reproduce this with my FF802 connecting it to the 10Gbps USB Controller...
