Topic: Set Up ARC USB with UCX II and TotalMix on MacOS
Greets:
I'm a newbie to the RME world, copping a Fireface UCX II a few weeks ago. For now, it's replacing my older audio interface, so it'll take me some time to get used to using it, especially with TotalMix FX.
Yesterday, got the ARC USB controller. As someone with low vision issues, the screen on the UCX II is so small, that I'd have to have it about 2-3 inches from my eyes just to see it, so really happy that I can use TotalMix to control the box, and have the ARC to control the most basic functions. When I learn both TotalMix and the UCX II better, I'll surely take advantage of the custom features.
But I do have an immediate issue: when I log onto my Mac (I have macOS Sonoma), but default the TotalMix interface window appears on screen. I usually quit the application, but because I have the RME audio driver installed, the box still works fine and good. However, when I do quit TotalMix, the ARC stops working.
What I'd like to do is to have my Mac start up without opening TotalMix FX on screen, but I would like for the ARC to still be my device to control the UCX II. I've tried scanning for info on how to do this, but so far I'm not finding such info. I admit that I'm a newbie, so it may be just that. But at the least, until I have more time to get deep into the RME system, I would at least like for the setup described above to happen.
I hope that this is clear, but let me know if more clarity is needed. I'd appreciate any assistance on this; thank you.
