Topic: Sonarworks SoundID Support for ADI-2 Remote

Hello RME,

I was excited when I saw news about Sonarworks SoundID Support for RME interfaces as having UFX+ myself along with ADI-2/4 PRO SE however it's a real shame that doesn't work for headphones but for speakers only.

I spoke to Sonarworks and they confirmed they would love to make it working with RME interfaces but they also need your support with this since their files are encrypted to protect their code and TotalMix or ADI-2 Remote must know how to read such files from them.

To me it would be a real game changer if I only could put my headphones calibration settings internally and save them, at least into my ADI-2/4 which I'm using mainly in standalone mode.

If anyone else looking for same thing, please support this post.

Re: Sonarworks SoundID Support for ADI-2 Remote

I agree... I have Genelec monitors and they have their own calibration software, and I do use RME's built-in EQ when using my Beyer 1900 headphones.  I do have Sonorworks software but prefer to use RME as opposed to a plug-in for ProTools, or their system app.

Shouldn't Sonorworks work for speakers AND headphones?  The RME doesn't know the difference... you're just switching outputs.  I had read that it was using RME's built-in EQ anyway... is that incorrect?

+1, if they do this I'll buy a unit, does Sonarworks work with the ADI-2 Pro FS Black (or will it in the future)?

Re: Sonarworks SoundID Support for ADI-2 Remote

I also connected The Sonarworks guys asking for the headphone profiles to import it into RME Devices, just like the Speaker Measurement Profiles.
Unfortunately they are not supported to import and it's not just convertable into a profile to use with my RME devices. That would  be really a  great feature. I own Genelec speakers that are already well calibrated, but listening with headphones always is kind of a fight, sometimes its good and refreshing ears, sometimes not.  So THIS would be a killer solution. As The kindly Support from Sonarworks says, it  would be feature request for RME not for them (..) so I would like to share this content with you.

Re: Sonarworks SoundID Support for ADI-2 Remote

Yes, they said exactly the same and my comment is also on Sonarworks website.

Is anyone from RME here can confirm if this is even under consideration?

I would love to use it with my UFX+ and ADI-2/4 without Sonarworks app as changed my interface from Presonus Quantum to RME mainly because of it being standalone and recording on USB. Unfortunately I don't have a studio and I'm working in lounge so speaker calibration is the must for me.

Luckily, there are more open source friendly sources who measure headphones than Sonarworks.
Of course, if you are talking about individually calibrated headphones by Sonarworks through their service, that's a different story. But for a more average curve, this should help:
