Topic: Basic MIDI with an original blue Babyface

Hi,

Very easy and basic question.
I want to control my Line 6 HX stomp from my PC through the Babyface midi output.
I can not for the life of me get it to work, is there some setting I need to turn on to get any action out of the midi out?
I use Gig Performer, it sees both Babyface in and out midi ports, I have selected to send a program change message on midi channel 1 to the Babyface midi out, but nothing is happening at the the HX stomp. It is set to a base channel 1, and to recieve PC messages via it's midi in port.

Any clues, like is there som button I need to enable to magically turn midi action on at the ports?

I would use a Midi monitor software to see all midi messages running.
On Mac we have free Midi-Monitor from here :
http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/

For Windows there must be something similar. Look out for "Midi Tool Box"

What you also can do:
cable Loopback
Connect a Midi cable from midi output port to midi input port and record incoming midi, is it the expected programm change command ?

Edit :
May be the HX needs to be in Preset-mode for program change ?
Use page button to go thru the four modes.
